Thank You Rays

As the Cubs fans did over at jaythejoke.com, I think it’s appropriate to post here all of the “Thank You” messages to all the different Rays players who deserve them.  So here they go:

Thank you Akinori Iwamura for eliminating the hole at the second base position.

Thank you B.J. Upton for playing as well as you have through a torn labrum.

Thank you Carl Crawford for returning just in time for the playoffs.

Thank you Carlos Pena for your second half turnaround.

Thank you Dioner Navarro for your amazing improvement into one of our best hitters.

Thank you Eric Hinske for filling in very well everywhere you played.

Thank you Evan Longoria for your Rookie of the Year season on both sides of the ball.

Thank you Gabe Gross for being “Mr. Walk Off.”

Thank you Jason Bartlett for being a human vacuum and possibly team MVP.

Thank you Rocco Baldelli for your inspirational comeback.

Thank you Ben Zobrist for vastly improving at the plate.

Thank you Cliff Floyd for being our Terry Pendleton–esque veteran leader.

Thank you Dan Johnson for that burn of Jonathan Papelbon.

Thank you Elliot Johnson for making the Yankees angry during Spring Training and turning our attitude around.

Thank you Fernando Perez for your reliable play down the stretch.

Thank you Jonny Gomes for defending your teammates.

Thank you Justin Ruggiano for that game–saving catch against Toronto.

Thank you Shawn Riggans for your flashes of power.

Thank you Willy Aybar for coming here and filling in serviceably throughout our infield.

Thank you Scott Kazmir for getting your arm together and being an All Star.

Thank you James Shields for being an ace all season long.

Thank you Matt Garza for strengthening our pitching rotation.

Thank you Andy Sonnanstine for a much improved winning season.

Thank you Edwin Jackson for proving your worth.

Thank you Chad Bradford for coming over here and getting those ground balls.

Thank you Dan Wheeler for returning to your old form.

Thank you David Price for kick starting your career with a bang.

Thank you Grant Balfour for becoming an absolutely overpowering bullpen force.

Thank you J.P. Howell for making yourself useful, and then some, in long relief.

Thank you Jason Hammel for accepting your role and playing it well.

Thank you Trever Miller for being an effective left handed specialist.

Thank you Troy Percival for being a great closer, for a few months at least.

Thank you Joe Maddon for righting the boat and turning it around with your unique style.

Thank you Stuart Sternberg for finally throwing some money into this team and making them winners.

Thank you fans for stopping by, and go Rays.
